12 Degrees & Skiving

what began as year-long challenge has become perpetual until further notice

February – The Scarf

this is my scarf
it makes me seem pantomime lionlike
my fog-white face on an easter nest

a neighbour
pride looped it, lunged, tightened
nights of carpal-wringing

the first gift
she it made to order
so he could cast it over

a woman born beneath
Orion handstanding
pin her here

in whorls of disyllable
flowered pates
the scent of kitchen fireglow

in modo da poter lanciarla sopra

una donna nata sotto
Orion testa in giu’
tenerla qui

in vortici bisillabici
volti floreali
il profumo del bagliore del focolare

This is beautiful. I love the imagery around the creation of the scarf…can just see the wrists move in the looping, repeating. Gorgeous.

Tell me wotcha reckon
