6am fimbriates
murmurs gold to the backs of her knees
at the pond’s feet
gasping mud hungry press
rubber boot vacuum formed
she staffs her rake, daisylets
bunched between teeth
grass such as whiskers
or fangs from her fingers
tickle the meniscus chthonic
where syllabic lipped
koi keep time
she dips a thumb for the kiss
then her whole hand cupped
for the underbelly slide
a hymn silver plated
holy as sunrise
poems, prose and pathways
