i curled inside my wondering
yesterday
a difficult thing to do
at my age
even here
where siesta is scheduled in
part of daily lists
calendars
i made myself
the opposite of unfurl
forced myself down
ha!
my body
held the final word
at the whim
of the grief of clouds
a 28 day cycle
the wonder
of 4am cramps
so until i was turned off
like so much static
i held the gaze of my ceiling’s window
swallows threaded spring
found all my childhood there
washed in mountain light
dancing the indigo
poems, prose and pathways
