12 Degrees & Skiving

what began as year-long challenge has become perpetual until further notice

April 4 – to find you

i dreamt i was back in australia
looking for you
in places you’ve never seen
at airports
without planes
train platforms
your scent ageing
in eddied corners
seems you’d left
the day before
without me
i woke feeling
like a woodwife
a one-winged thing
something that had been
up all night
as someone else
in a forest of searching
where even the ghostgums
bent low
to find you
