Wear Your Best Jeans Now

shade you, light me
cool side, leeside
we stand well-walked

in lands where chalked
ideas, forked plans,
and hawked days means

wear your best jeans
now: time leans in
she keens, glad, low

and gloats to know
your thoughts so sweet
as slow her weight

and, as time’s bait,
harried fate curls
in wait, in genes.

wear your best jeans
for time leans in,
she keens, glad, low.

The Burmese form Than Bauk is a three-line-per-stanza ascending poem, the rhyme scheme as follows:
